Description

The TC1720 is ideal for applications requiring the RS422 interface with the DB37 Connector and high data rates, it supports asynchronous data rates up to 256Kbps and synchronous rates up to 2.5Mbps. 

Distances up to 30km* are possible depending on various factors including electrical interface, optical transmitter, number of fiber optic connectors and fiber type and quality.  Power redundancy is available when the TC1720R is used with the TCRM192 or 196 Rack Assembly and optional in standalone versions. 

Diagnostics are extensive and include a built-in Test Signal Generator, local loopback and LEDs for Power, Alarm, Tx, Rx and all applicable control signals.  The Test Signal Generator verifies both device and fiber optic link operation.

Available for multimode (850/1300nm) or single mode (1310/1550nm), the TC1720 is compatible with all popular sizes and types of fiber optic cable.  Fiber optic connectors are ST, SC or FC.  Electrical connectors are DB37 female.  Power is 12VDC (standard), 24VDC, -48VDC, 125 VDC or 115/230VAC with an external power cube.

The TC1720 is available in two versions: PC Card for installation in a 19' rack assembly , wall mount, or standalone "Pizza" box.  Standalone or rack mount versions can be mixed or matched on either end.  An extreme temperature version (-20° to 70°C), Model TC1700T, is also available.
